Patti Seabolt

I began my career 23 years ago after graduating from Salisbury State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.  I spent my first year at H.O.B as a full time substitute for two teachers that were on maternity leave.  The next year I began teaching 3rd grade in room 14 where I remained for 14 years.  I returned to graduate school while teaching 3rd grade and earned a master’s degree in reading and also certification in school administration from Wilmington University.  After teaching 3rd grade I became Hob’s Title I/HOSTS Coordinator for 5 years.  For the next 2 years I served as the Reading Specialist for Mariner Middle School, Beacon Middle School, and Cape Henlopen High School.  I am also an adjunct faculty member at Wilmington University and teach graduate courses to teachers earning their master’s degree in reading.

I live in Georgetown with my husband John of 23 years and our two daughters. In my spare time I enjoy a brisk walk, a good book, a relaxing day at the beach or pool, a nice dinner out, but above all I love spending time with my family.

I am thrilled to be at H.O.B. as the Assistant Principal and I am looking forward to a great year.  I am a true believer in RESPECT.  I have always tried to instill in my students the importance of having respect for themselves and others.  I strongly feel that a classroom and a school where everyone has respect for themselves and for others sets the tone for educational success.  Please feel free to contact me for any reason at PSeabolt@cape.k12.de.us .
